Our Conductor

Loreto McAuley started her orchestral life as a french horn player, studying under John Thurgood and Derek Parkins of the Ulster Orchestra. She has played with many local orchestras including the Ulster Orchestra and at Castle Ward Opera. Loreto began conducting while at school and attended the Canford Orchestral Conducting course under George Hurst.

She now works full time as a freelance Musical Director, pianist, harpist and organist and conducts several choirs and orchestras around Belfast. Loreto also enjoys composing and arranging music for orchestra.

It is a pleasure to conduct the Loughshore Orchestra! They are a very welcoming group, with great talent and a great love of music. I look forward to every rehearsal!
